Barbara Eubanks – Christian Humorist

I am honored God can use me in His service with my writing and speaking.  Soon after my first humorous devotional book – Humorous Happenings in Holy Places – hit the market in 2005, calls started coming in with requests for me to come speak at various events.  People were, and still are, drawn to the funny anecdotes about mishaps or misspoken words in church. I speak to church events, banquets, civic organizations, and many other events, both large and small.

From that, God gave me a new way of serving Him.  Each year I speak at many venues sharing the joy of Jesus.  I contend God has given his children much to be happy about and many people and experiences which can bring joy into our lives; we have to but look for them.  I also stress the truths from Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. That is what we should dwell on  – the good stuff.

People need humor and laughter more today more than ever before.  The world has become a dark, troubled place; therefore the need for the joy and peace that can only come from our Heavenly Father is greater than ever.  People need to laugh; it is good for physical, emotional, and spiritual health. God wants his children to be happy and have abundant lives according to John 10:10.

I attempt to combine church humor and spiritual inspiration to draw audiences to Christ.  My prayer is that I can be but a channel of blessings for Him.
